How to schedule your time and bill when you are treating more than one patient in a single location.

There are times when you may end up seeing two patients in a single location (usually the home). Most often, treatment time is a pendulum, moving from one of the patients to the next as you alternate activities to keep both engaged.
Here are tips on how to schedule and bill for this.
Your scheduled time will be the same for both (i.e. 1:00 - 3:00 pm). You will have to enter this on the chart note.
Your total billing cannot exceed your total time onsite.
Otherwise divide the time and treatment by each patient. So, for example, if you started ther-ex with one and then she took a break while you did gait training with the other, each gets billed for what was done.
Your HUCU check-in and out can be for a single patient - just make a note that both patients were seen for the record.
