PT/OT CHEAT SHEET
Here is a listing of items we feel are most important for you to know about LifeCare and our systems and processes.
1. Customer Service is #1- call patients within24 hrs. of assignment of the case.
2. Our patients get set apt schedules- we do NOT do the drop in, we do NOT call day of to say can I come. Our patients do not have to be home bound and even if they are they deserve an appointment time to know when to expect you. Set appointments!
3. Once Evaluation is completed, it is the responsibility of the PT/OT to tell the assistant that eval is done so that patient can be set up for treatment. We use channels in HUCU to tell assistants- if you need a channel set up- ask Elisha or Marika
4. Intakes-- are done electronically at time of first Eval- you can do it on any device and have patient or POA etc sign. You are able to download at time of completion so you have the PDF to upload to the EMR or send a copy to the patient. If there is no service you can print several copies to do with the patient by paper and upload a picture of signature page to the EMR. Here is link: https://www.lifecare-works.com/patient-forms-documents
Also submit pictures of patient and Insurance cards in Hucu at time of doing intake-
5. Please use Hucu for your check in and check out with Geo location
6. If there is poor service at pts home or an OOPS/I forgot happens- please use treatment logs with signature in and out must be uploaded weekly.
7. Documentation must be entered by Sunday at midnight- anything after is considered late. Evaluations and Recertifications need to be sent to Dr for signature asap- so we ask Evals to be written between 24-48 hrs of appointment.
8. At time of evaluation or sup visits- you must make apts with the patient prior to 30 days- we ask sup visits be scheduled and entered in EMR ahead of time so the patient, assistant, and office knows when you are scheduled to go back. You can not be late- anything after 30 days is out of regulatory compliance. Make apts every three weeks to be safe.
9. NEVER go to a patient’s home without reviewing the RX and or the insurance.
10. Only communicate with your assistants by Hucu which is HIPPA compliant or by phone calls.
