If you are working in Outpatient Therapy you must stay informed!

CMS 's proposed changes to its physician fee schedule for 2022 is going to affect us and in a BIG way. It is a significant reduction in the rate of reimbursement for using PTA's and if this goes into Effect , it will Affect us ALL!

This Information is Straight from the APTA : "The Issue"

"Beginning Jan. 1, 2022, payment for outpatient therapy services furnished by physical therapist assistants will be reimbursed at 85% of the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. This cut, harmful by itself, is happening in addition to other proposed cuts to the fee schedule. Patients are at risk of losing access to therapy services, just as we fight our way back from a pandemic that has increased patient need for those services and challenged the financial stability of providers."
