Therapy At Alternate Locations
The following guidelines are given for therapists to understand their individual roles and responsibilities when services are provided in these alternate locations including ALFs, ILFs and other facilities.
LifeCare Therapy Services is certified by AAAASF as an Outpatient Physical Therapy Provider, and we provide skilled physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy services to the community under physician orders and with a certified plan of care. The patients we serve and the location where services are provided may be a patient’s private home, or may be provided in a facility or center, such as a daycare center, ALF, ILF, or similar location. The following guidelines are given for therapists to understand their individual roles and responsibilities when services are provided in these alternate locations.
Guidelines:
LifeCare, and all of our representatives and therapists are guests. We do not have any formal arrangement, rented space, or other agreement with any center or facility. You are there solely to provide direct care to the patient referred for therapy.
If you have a medical emergency that involves your patient, please follow facility protocols and LifeCare Emergency Plans.
On occasion, therapists have noted concerns that fall outside the scope of our services that relate to the facility in which you are rendering care, individual caregivers, etc. Please report these concerns to the LifeCare Admissions Coordinator, who can route them to the appropriate authority.
Finally, please remember that you are representing LifeCare at all times when you are in a facility. We ask that you maintain constant professionalism and courtesy to all individuals with whom you contact.
