Why is ptMantra important to your patient's plan of care?
Improved Outcomes
Patients who do their home exercises on the days they do not have therapy are 60-70% more likely to achieve improved outcomes. Patient's adherence to their home exercise program is a major component in their ability to show functional gains and meet goals in a timely manner.
Documents Compliance
ptMantra provides proof of compliance with a home exercise program for the therapy team and also the patient's doctor or NP. Patients who comply will have better outcomes but patients who do not develop the habit of exercise and activity outside of therapy are the ones at high risk for plateau and decline after discharge.
What You Can Do
As therapists, we motivate our patients but we can not force them to do the work on the days you are not there. Here is how to encourage compliance:
Log in to ptMantra at every therapy visit to review the exercises and perform with the patient (Bill Therapeutic Exercise).
Review patient compliance trends at supervisory visits.
Communicate with the ptMantra Care Navigator in HUCU.
