LifeCare is a Part B outpatient in-home therapy company. We bill under Part B of the patient's Medicare benefits. We can not be in a home at the same time as a Medicare Part A Company, which is Home Health as all LifeCare Therapy Services will automatically be denied.
Please stay in the habit of always checking with your Medicare patients to ensure that no nursing has come into the home since your last session, ie. wound care, IV interventions, etc . We always keep our eye out for those Home Health Folders they typically leave with their patients. The minute HH goes into a home we need to discharge. We can tell the patients when Home Health discharges them they are welcome to come back to LifeCare and part B.

What if my patient has UHC?
It depends on the services. Well technically we can be in the home and billing therapy if they are getting an aide through UHC but NO therapy services. We can not duplicate billing. So only one therapy provider in home.
Did You Know?
We do not conflict with hospice, private duty, VA, long-term care nursing, or Medicaid nursing so therapy services can continue.
