Therapy Facility Active Shooter Response Plan
A. Run (Evacuate if Safe)
- Direct patients and staff to the nearest safe exit.
- Leave belongings behind; prioritize speed and safety.
- Assist patients with mobility limitations using pre-planned routes.
B. Hide (Shelter in Place if Evacuation Not Possible)
- Lock and barricade doors with furniture or equipment.
- Silence phones and remain quiet.
- Position patients and staff out of sight, away from windows and doors.
C. Fight (Last Resort)
- If confronted directly and escape is impossible, use available objects (chairs, therapy equipment) to disrupt or disarm.
